Privacy Policy

Short Version
Semester Stuff does not automatically collect, sell, share, or track your personal information. Your app content is stored on your device and may synchronize privately through your iCloud account.
We do not have access to the contents of your private iCloud database. If you contact us for support, we receive only the information you voluntarily include in your message.
Information We Collect
We do not automatically collect personal information through Semester Stuff. The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, tracking tools, or data-broker integrations.
Information you enter is stored locally on your device so the app can function. When iCloud is available, the app may also store and synchronize this information through your private iCloud database.
Information Stored on Your Device and in iCloud
The app may store information you choose to enter, including:
- Course names, schedules, instructors, office hours, and course details
- Assignments, assessments, meetings, events, holidays, deadlines, grades, and GPA settings
- Attendance logs, goals, timers, notes, drawings, recordings, and photos
- Course attachments and documents you choose to import, including PDFs
- Profile name, icon settings, notification settings, color settings, and other preferences
This information is stored locally and may be synchronized through your private iCloud account. It is not sent to or stored on servers operated by the developer.
iCloud Synchronization
Semester Stuff uses Apple's CloudKit service to synchronize app data between devices using the same Apple Account with iCloud enabled.
- Synced information is stored in the private CloudKit database associated with your iCloud account.
- Private CloudKit data is not visible to us through the CloudKit developer portal.
- The app does not place your information in a public CloudKit database or share it with other users.
- Synchronization depends on your Apple Account, network connection, device settings, and Apple's services.
- Synced information may count toward your iCloud storage quota.
Apple processes iCloud information according to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Purchases and Free Trial
Semester Stuff uses Apple's StoreKit system to provide the free trial, verify purchases, restore access, and determine whether app features should be unlocked.
Apple processes purchases and payment information. We do not receive or store your payment-card number, bank-account information, or Apple Account password.
The app may store trial and verified-purchase status in your device Keychain and, when available, iCloud Keychain. This helps preserve trial and purchase status after reinstalling the app and across devices using the same Apple Account.
Ads, Analytics, and Tracking
- No advertising is used.
- No third-party analytics are used.
- No tracking is used.
- No information is sold or shared with data brokers.
Device Permissions
Semester Stuff may request permission to use device features only when needed for functionality you choose to use:
- Camera and photo-library access may be used when you choose to add a photo.
- Microphone access may be used when you choose to create a recording.
- Notifications may be used when you choose to enable local reminders.
These permissions are optional and can be managed through your device's Settings app.
Notifications
If enabled, notifications are local reminders generated by the app on your device. Notification content is not sent to us.
Depending on your device settings, notification content may appear on your Lock Screen or in Notification Center.
If you tap an instructor's email address, Semester Stuff may open the email service or mail app you selected with the instructor's address and course name prepared for you.
Sending and storing the message are handled by that service or app. We do not receive or store copies of those messages.
Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information, screenshots, or other materials you voluntarily include. This information is used only to respond to your request, investigate reported problems, and provide support.
Please do not send passwords, Apple Account credentials, payment information, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Data Retention
App content remains on your device and, when synchronization is active, in your private iCloud database until you delete it or manage it through the storage controls provided by Apple.
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request, document the resolution, and address related technical issues.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual courses, assignments, assessments, attachments, and other content inside Semester Stuff. When iCloud synchronization is active, those deletions are synchronized to your other devices.
Deleting the app removes its locally stored app data from that device, but it may not delete information already stored in your private iCloud database. If you reinstall the app using the same Apple Account, synchronized information may become available again.
Deleting the app may not remove trial or purchase-verification information stored in Keychain or iCloud Keychain. Purchases remain associated with your Apple Account through Apple's systems so they can be restored.
Children's Privacy
Semester Stuff is a general-purpose student planner and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Information entered into Semester Stuff remains under the user's control on their device and, when available, in their private iCloud account.
Changes to This Policy
If Semester Stuff's privacy practices change, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. The updated date at the top of this page will indicate when the policy was most recently revised.
